I am looking for any information around best practice or standards of practice for clearing IV pump volumes at the end of each nurses shifts. We are encountering some questions as to the reliability of electronic infusing devices and the need for the "total infused volumes" to be cleared after each shift.

We do clear out the IV pumps every shift, but it is only to measure the intake and output. I haven't seen any best practice on the subject.
